Community Projects

The marginalized poorest county are often in need of support. Sport can often positively help these areas to grow and rise from poverty.

CVA donates the basic foundational material to the following social and county projects. In 2007 we gave thousand of equipment to the school where we walked.

If you would like to help, please contact the office for more information of how to do so.

Environmental Policies

China Volkssport Association Routing and Responsible Walking Policy

All CVA Routing activities are governed by our high respect for the environment and the people who live in it. We aim to make a positive impact both in the China and in the countries where we walked. We agree with the principals of sustainable development and specifically promote environmentally aware and responsible walk in the countries, in order to preserve the heritage of the people who live there and to help protect their environment.

Environmental Responsibility and Responsible Travel.

In the China we use recyclable and recycled materials when possible. We recycle what we can and attempt to keep waste to an absolute minimum. During the walking journey we use low-energy light bulbs, fair-trade and biodegradable products where possible.

We are involved in on-going walking of the staff we work with in the China and in the CVA to ensure as high as possible standards of environmental care and responsible behavior. When we introduce a new walking event we always consider its environmental impact, and try to reduce this impact to a minimum.

On all our walking event we aim to minimize waste by using products with minimum packaging, leaving no litter and keeping all water sources clean, leaving camp sites cleaner than we find them.

Social Responsibility and Responsible Travel

Throughout Walking Event we are putting money into the local economy. We have ongoing contact with the teams that we work with and also with local communities in the areas we trek through. We aim to make a positive impact by training our staff and developing positive relationships with local communities. We donate goods such as books and TV to local school, through appropriate local agencies. We support children charities in the area where minimize foundation material.

We ask that is any of our clients have any children books and book bags that they would like to donate to children to take them and give them to our tour leader, who will ensure they go to a suitable organization. Projects can be visited in Peru and Ecuador .

When trekking we adhere to a responsible tourism code of practice. We make customers aware of the hazards to the environment in thorough briefings before setting out on trek, and have specific procedures for protecting the environment, and for the disposal of human waste, rubbish, and for hygiene. We are also involved in ongoing training of our trek staff.

  In The China Office

We use recycled paper where possible, and try to limit the amount of paper used and rubbish produced. We recycle whatever possible. We also make available our Responsible Tourism advice to all customers traveling with CVA walking event.

Local People & Customs

Start enjoying your walking before you leave by tapping into as many sources of information as you can. Learn about and appreciate the cultures which you come across - it will enhance your experience.

Try to avoid behavior that may be considered offensive. Think carefully about what's appropriate in terms of your clothes and the way you behave. You'll earn respect and be more readily welcomed by local people.

Don't treat people as part of the landscape; they may not want their picture taken. Put yourself in their shoes, ask first and respect their wishes. Do not expect any special privileges - remember that you are only one of many visitors.

Meeting and talking to local people will add to your enjoyment.

Do not trespass. Wherever possible, ask for permission to enter someone's land.

Make no promises to local people that you can't keep - be realistic about what you will do when you return home.

Natural Resources & Pollution

Minimize your environmental impact - Help preserve local wildlife and habitats by respecting rules and regulations, such as sticking to footpaths and not buying products made from plants or animals.

Think about what happens to your rubbish - remove extra packaging from anything you are taking with you so as not to add to the rubbish disposal problems, take biodegradable products and a water filter bottle. Be sensitive to limited resources like water, fuel and electricity.

Do not pollute or bathe in rivers. Often those streams will be someone's drinking water source further down river.

Never leave rubbish. Take out what you bring in. Always try to leave a campsite in as good or better state than you found it.
