Highlight:
Guizhou ---- is a mountainous provincer however it is more hilly in the west while the eastern and southern portions are reltively flate. The western part of the province forms part of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. Guizhou is one of the provinces that contains the most minority groups. It is the home of the Maotai Distillery, distillers of Maotai liquor, China’s most famous alcoholic beverage. The southeastern corner of the province is known for its unique Dong minority culture. The province also has many covered bridges, called Wind and Rain Bridges and built by the Dong minority people.
Guiyang---- Situated on the east of the Yunnan-guizhou Plateau, and on the north bank of the Nanming River. The city was first constructed as early as 1283 AD during the Yuan Dynasty. Originally the area was populated by non-Chinese.
Wanfenglin---also called Ten-thousand Peaks, is located at the middle and lower reaches of a “beautiful scar on earth”--- the Malinghe Valley. As early as 300 million years ago, the area of Wanfengling was part of the Yunnan-Guizhou ancient sea. After several orogenic movements, bulged limestone rocks underwent the combined effect of burning sunshine, rain, dioxide and organic acids, in the process forming marvelous sights, such as Karst caves, peak forest, natural craters, rift valleys, earth crevices, stalactites and stalagmites.
Huangguoshu Waterfall----is the largest waterfall in China and Asia located on the Baihe River in Anshun, Guizhou Province. The Huangguoshu (Yellow Fruit Tree) Waterfall is one of few waterfalls that can be viewed from above, below, front, back, left and right in the world.
Bird's nest---- The Beijing National Stadium, also known as the bird's nest which was the main track and field stadium of the 29th Summer Olympics in 2008 and was also its opening and closing ceremonies field.
Forbidden City-----One of the largest and most famous palace groups. In its heyday, some six thousand people lived in the Forbidden City. This included the emperor and his royal family, and his concubines, servants and eunuchs. It is as marvelous as Versailles from France, Buckingham Palace from England, White House form America and Kremlin from Russia.
Beijing---Capital of China, one of the modern and international metropolis in the world. It is home of the 29th summer Olympic Game. In ancient China, six dynasties had capitalized it.
