Highlight:
Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region ---- located on the northwest loess highland, the Yellow River flows through a vast area of its land. Ningxia and its surrounding areas were incorporated into the Qin Dynasty as early as the third century BC. In the early thirteenth century, Genghis Khan conquered Yinchuan, its capital. After that, it became a region under control of Mongol. To keep out Mongols and other northern nomadic tribes, hundreds of kilometers great wall were built along the foot of Helan Mountain at the border of Ningxia and Inner Mongolia. So Ningxia is known as the Museum of the ancient Great Wall.
Maowusu Desert----as the 8th largest desert in China, is the southern part of Ordos Desert
Shapotou Desert----situated in Zhongwei County, lies on the north bank of the Yellow River where it crosses the southeastern border of the Tengger Desert, the fourth largest desert in China. It is regarded as one of the most beautiful deserts in China and is widely recognized as the Capital of Sand. It is the site of the world-renowned Shapotou Desert Experimental Research Station, which is the desert research outpost.
Xixia Imperial Tomb ---- located 30 km west of Yinchuan. There are the remnants of nine Western Xia emperors’ tombs and 250 tombs of imperial relatives and officials from that era, lying within a 50-km2 area. The Xixia(Western Xia) civilization dates between 1038 to 1227, and was founded by the Tangut ethnic group, about which little is currently known. They vanished under mysterious circumstances in the 13th century.
Sanguankou Great Wall----- is located at a gap in the southern part of the Helan Mountains. In the ancient time, the mountain mouth was also a military strategic point connecting Mongolia and Ningxia. Helan Mountain runs over 200 kilometers long from north to South at the border of Ningxia and Inner Mongolia.
Along the foot of Helan Mountain, extending for hundreds of kilometers are relics of Ming great wall. Historically, Sanguankou(Three Passes) of Helan Mountain was a critical military fort. It was through Sanguan kou that Ghengis khan's army came down upon Western Xia Kingdom from Mongolia. The great wall in Sanguankou extended for hundreds of kilometers along the Helan Mountain.
Bird's nest---- The Beijing National Stadium, also known as the bird's nest which was the main track and field stadium of the 29th Summer Olympics in 2008 and was also its opening and closing ceremonies field.

Forbidden City-----One of the largest and most famous palace groups. In its heyday, some six thousand people lived in the Forbidden City. This included the emperor and his royal family, and his concubines, servants and eunuchs. It is as marvelous as Versailles from France, Buckingham Palace from England, White House form America and Kremlin from Russia.
Beijing---Capital of China, one of the modern and international metropolis in the world. It is home of the 29th summer Olympic Game. In ancient China, six dynasties had capitalized it.
