Potala Palace ----was named after Mount Potala, the abode of Chenresig or Avalokitesvara. The Potala Palace was the chief residence of the Dalai Lama until the 14th Dalai Lama fled to Dharamsala, India after an invasion and failed uprising in 1959. Today the Potala Palace has been converted into a museum by the Chinese.
Namtso Lake ----is one of the most beautiful places in the Nyainquentanglha mountain range. It is the highest salt lake in the world, and largest salt lake in the Tibet Autonomous Region. Namtso has five uninhabited islands of reasonalbe size, in addition to one or two rocky outcrops. The islands have been used for spiritual retreat by pilgrims who walk over the lake’s frozen surface at the end of winter, carrying their food with them. Its cave hermitages have for centuries been the destination of Tibetan pilgrims. The weather at Namtso is subject to abrupt sudden change and snowstorms are very common across the Nyainqêntanglha range.
YangBajing Hot Spring----- is the highest altitude set of hot springs in China and the world. The water emerges at 30℃-84℃, which is above the boilding point at that altitude.
Jokhang Temple ---- is the first Buddhist temple in Tibet. For most Tibetans it is the most sacred and important temple in Tibet. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Historic Ensemble of the Potala Palace" and a spiritual centre of Lhasa.
Yarlung Zangbo River---- is the highest major river in the world. As it descends, the surrounding vegetation changes from cold desert to arid steppe to deciduous scrub vegetation. The Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, formed by a horse-shoe bend in the river where it flows around Namcha Barwa, is the deepest, and possibly longest canyon in the world.
Tashilhunpo Monastery---- is a historic and culturally important monastery. The monastery is the traditional seat of successive Panchen Lamas, the second highest ranking tulku lineage in the Gelukpa traditiona.
Bird's nest---- The Beijing National Stadium, also known as the bird's nest which was the main track and field stadium of the 29th Summer Olympics in 2008 and was also its opening and closing ceremonies field.
Forbidden City-----One of the largest and most famous palace groups. In its heyday, some six thousand people lived in the Forbidden City. This included the emperor and his royal family, and his concubines, servants and eunuchs. It is as marvelous as Versailles from France, Buckingham Palace from England, White House form America and Kremlin from Russia.
Beijing---Capital of China, one of the modern and international metropolis in the world. It is home of the 29th summer Olympic Game. In ancient China, six dynasties had capitalized it.
